Choosing a Type of Health Insurance
There are 3 main types of health insurance: HMO, PPO and POS. Any of these 3
types of health insurance can be considered the best option for a person and
their family, depending on their situation and their expectation of
coverage. Some people who have kids know that they will be visiting the
doctor quite often, so HMO could be the best option while others don't
expect to go to the doctor's office too often, so POS might be the choice.
Then there are others who aren't sure but would like a flexible to be able
to see certain specialist that might not be recommended by your regular
physician.
The best option is to consult with a health insurance agent and let them
know what your situation is and they will try to recommend the best possible
type of coverage for you.
Speaking from my personal experience is that most families tend to go with a
HMO while people who are single and younger go with either HMO or PPO
because of the flexibility. POS is sometimes the choice for those who don't
think they will need to visit the doctor or physician too often.
